Building and training biomimetic spiking neural network models for navigation in the virtual world; Developing a biological deep learning framework for learning and playing AI-based games; Constructing a biophysically detailed excitability model of Purkinje cell dendrites incorporating morphological structure, discrete and stochastic ion channels, complex intracellular calcium regulatory mechanisms and intracellular molecular diffusion. In addition to helping neuroscientists understand electrophysiological data better, my work also provides detailed guidelines on developing more realistic neuron models that is a first step towards using these models for drug development and therapeutic purposes.
