Introduction
Hi, I’m Krishna Teja, and I work as a machine learning research engineer at Red Hat. I enjoy building AI systems, solving research problems, and helping make advanced technology easier to use and more efficient. I have a PhD in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, and I’ve also done research at Argonne National Laboratory, Intel, and AMD. Outside of research, I enjoy learning new things, working on technical projects, and helping students grow in confidence. I live in the Boston area and I like traveling. I have been to 40 US states and my goal is to visit all 50 states in the next two years.

Research Areas
This mentor can support projects in AI and machine learning training, AI deployment, large language models, and building and testing machine learning models.
They are also comfortable mentoring projects focused on making AI models faster or more efficient, working with language models and chatbots, image- and vision-based AI, and data science.
Background
My research is about making AI models work better, faster, and more efficiently. I have worked on language models, image models, and systems that help run these models on powerful supercomputers. During my PhD at Iowa State University and later at Argonne National Laboratory, I worked on projects related to improving AI systems to perform in real-world settings. I now continue this work at Red Hat, where I focus on improving large AI models and contributing to open-source tools used by the research community.
